Control of Substances Hazardous to HealthDSEAR Fire Hazard

Wherever possible it is preferable to avoid the use of any chemical or substance hazardous to health, where possible they should be substituted with substances less harmful or dangerous. However, this is not always possible and therefore before using such a substance, a risk assessment must be carried out to determine the full extent dangers and implications of using such a substance.

The risk assessment should take into account all activities associated with its used storage, transportation, spillage, as well as the main production task itself. Exposure levels to the substance as a direct health risk should also be taken into consideration.
